THE WITNESS

This chap was completely green when I focussed, I was not getting a good view, took a step closer and he turned brown when I clicked, I think I took the transition. I wanted to take another picture and this chap refused to pose and just disappeared. Thought I could put him on the witness stand and watch his colours changing.

Took these pictures yesterday, very long trek, I was completely drenched in sweat, I did not feel tired while on the trek as it happens always when I am lost in nature, but I was feeling miserable for having booked my return ticket by the night train. This was not planned, I had a free day, thought I could see the surrounding places. I was worried about reaching the railway station on time, had to go 80 kilometers from this remote place, completely dependant on public transport. This is Thattakad, Kerala, a bird sanctuary and reserve forest. Now I am feeling tired, couldn't sleep in the train, too many kids jumping around and constant ringing of mobiles kept me awake. I was listening to music all night long.
More details and pictures in Blunt Knife
This is a different chap, different witness, too willing to pose. This is not a full frame, I didn't want to disturb him like I did to the other chap.

Rauf, I really should have come to your site sooner. Fantastic photos & great writing. I have to answer your past questions from Jan. 11th.

"Does the life of an artist interfere with your appreciation of his or her art music or literature?"

YES! One example, an actor I liked in a few movies and who is very good looking, he totally repulses me now and even being so great looking, matters not at all, because I think he's scum, because of his personal life. I made the mistake of several times, reading about the personal lives of famous people that I admired and almost every time, I was disapointed. I learned long ago to not look them up. I watch their movies, listen to their music, but I don't read anything about them in magazines, internet, etc., unless I happen to come across someone's blog or someone tells me about, "So and so got divorced, a sex tape, blah blah blah." I don't want to know anymore, usually.

"Is knowing more about the person you admire most, a good idea?"

90-98% of the time, no. The person I admire most would have to be Jesus Christ and He is the only person I could never be ashamed of. If I was famous and people looked my past up, they might find things they are not proud to know. Everyone has a past. Everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect. I believe in second, third, ... chances.

Very good questions-questions I've thought about so many times.

Have a great day!

Thank you Lorraine, I lack the writing skill, I just put it in plain words, my cat does the spelling and grammer check. I think I should let my cat post the blogs too, he'll do a better job.
Silly fellow refusing to drink milk.

Welcome Patty
lots there, may not make much sense, I pour everything in one go.
Yes Knowing more about the person I admire has hurt me too. we just can't avoid. When we like some one its natural that we want to go a little further and know a bit more about them.
Patty, I like opposing views more than favourable ones, they kick up a debate in mind and open more windows. please feel free to correct me where ever you find I am wrong.

I don't have the writing skill like you Lorraine, nor any command over the language. I write what comes to my mind. This is not writing at all, I just talk to my friends and readers

Thank you David,
No, I find it difficult, as my main interest is people, life on the streets, portraits mostly. I lack the patience which is very essential for wild life, I try to cover as many places as I can in a short period of time.
Thanks for stepping in.

Less than a minute is all it takes for any one to know that I can never be an intellectual. I talk so much of rubbish Lorraine. I am dead scared of saints and intellectuals who have a vision to vaccuum clean this world.

Lorraine, every one is good at something or the other, some are aware of it and take it up seriously others go in wrong direction. Some are born talented like you, some keep trying like me.
