Life is life, and human life is just part of it. You are right that if we humans destroy ourselves, the planet will live on. Does Life need humanity? No. Do we need Life? Yes. Do we need the planet? Yes. We have to save the planet to save ourselves, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteNo Ruth, we are too small, Actually we have no idea how small we are. Too small to damage save or repair the planet. Nature does not need our help. A million nuclear explosions at a time will not alter the speed. What we are doing is we are destrying ourselves. What ever we have done hasn't really affected the planet. The damage od past 500 years is hardly a few seconds for the planet.
ReplyDeleteI think I know you well enough to know that you don't mean we should not concern ourselves with keeping our waters clean, lessening emissions and fossil fuels, being big consumers, etc. Am I right? The planet keeps going. But it is part of Life, and we must respect all Life.

ReplyDeleteI like this a lot Rauf. We are childish to believe we could ever destroy our planet. There are spiritual influences at work. Still, we must do our best, regardless of our small-mindedness :)
