LONER

Come back here
why ?
Be with us
I am with you
Come stand with all of us
why ?
What are you doing there ?
I am counting the trains passing by
We'll count the trains for you, stay with us
I am staying with you my roots are with you, I just want to have a better view of the bridge and the passing trains.
You can have a good view from here too
No its not the same. I get good sunshine and good breeze here.
You'll get knocked off by a strong wind
I'll die, no problem.

Thats my life. Some criticise, some are envious and many are kind to me and want me to enjoy my life. I am grateful to my family and friends for their love and support. I love them too.

Shot the picture from a train, don't remember where I was going.
Going away again to silent valley, leaving in a couple of hours, taking an early morning train.

I'll be back on 29th and reply to all your mail and comments
Love you all.
Owee, Have to pack, traveling light.

i think that everyone feels that way sometimes. i most definitely do. it's hard. but stay out there-the path less taken makes all the difference and you learn more.

No matter how much one tries to huddle up the group and make everyone see in the same direction, there is always someone who looks in a different direction. It is human nature. Some dont belong in groups, like myself. I hate being part of a group, for me, three is the max i can hang out with. More than that, i feel that i lose my identity and get swept away doing what the group wants to do and not doing what i like. That tree is probably like me, doing what it likes, doesnt care for rules, wants its own identity, be independent and not be pressured by the group. Maybe thats how it gets noticed. Of course, one may argue both ways about being in a group or not, but thats who i am and i feel the tree ;-)

I am just like you. I prefer to be alone with my thoughts and blog friends.
Altho most people like my company.

Brilliant post!!! loved it Rauf! that tree is me too. i like being on my own doing my own thing.

years ago, i had to quit seeing all my "friends". i had to find out who i was, what i liked doing, what music i liked, etc., without any of those friends as influences. and thankfully i have found out what i like to do, my interests...and have not regretted severing those ties(to those old friends). i am more independent because of choosing that path. don't think i was mean about not being their friend anymore-they were NOT true friends nor were they good influences on me & i'm positive they didn't even care. i'm glad i made that decision.

you live your life, Rauf, & enjoy every moment!

Miss Terri, I really don't want to be very different from others. I have to be in the society. Though I have received a great deal of criticism, I have received their love and affection too. They have touched my life and I have touched theirs. But I have taken a little more breathing space. I took time to think than being busy all my life. Being alone has helped me a lot to understand myself. Being alone is not being selfish as one may suggest. It gives me a lot of time to think of others.

Sorry for late response Miss Terri, came back home only this morning. Hope you are doing fine.

Hi Aamir, I realised the same when I went for my first NHTP (National Himalyan Trekking Programme) I did not enjoy it. After that I started trkking alone in the Himalayas. Traveling in a group doesn't teach you much, you keep interacting with each other,
like you are within brackets ( Hiya ). When I am alone I am thrown open to strangers, I have no option but to interact with complete stranges, that teaches me a lot and I am still learning.
Came back today Aamir, I was sleeping the whole day. Say Hi to Salma Saira Dad, and Mom and dad
writing to boo I'll say hi to her.

Thanks Gangadhar. Please take time and go away from technology for a while. Please don't carry your mobile. Leave it at home.

rauf said...

Thanks for the blessings Don. This time I really needed the sun.

Here in Chennai if some one calls and says I am coming to brighten up your day, please tell him not to come. If some one says I am coming to dampen your spirits, tell him you are most welcome please bring a bucket of water. Water is scarce in Chennai and Tamil Nadu, Neighbouring Kerala is rich with water.

Hi Ruth !
Yes Being alone gives me a chance to observe. You have experienced it in Paris Ruth, your unique imagination and pictures are the result of keen observation.
Good to be back home, slept the whole day, still tired. I'll try to post silent valley pictures today have to reply to lot of mail first. Hope the farm is going fine. There was some discussion about growing corn in the train, I was just listening and thinking of you Ruth. I heard growing corn does not require much rain. Some good information for me.

Imemine, This is a song from Double fantasy album 'watching the wheels' Pretty much sums up my life, John Lennon again.

People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin
When I say that I'm o.k. well they look at me kind of strange
Surely you're not happy now you no longer play the game

People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me
When I tell them that I'm doing fine watching shadows on the wall
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go

Ah, people asking questions lost in confusion
Well I tell them there's no problem, only solutions
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind
I tell them there's no hurry
I'm just sitting here doing time

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go

Hi Sangita,
I'll post silent valley pictures in Blunt knife today and give you the details

This is how you go.
Bangalore - Coimbatore - Palakkad - Mannarkad (kadu is forest) - Mukkali - Silent valley.

the road is just beautiful, you'd love the drive, its in good condition, but too many speed breakers and no warnings, they could break your car in two if you are not careful.

other road is
Coimbatore - Anakatti - (aanai is elephant) Anakatti is Kerala TN border - Aghali (its a tribal area) -Mukkali- silent Valley. This road too has too many speed breakers.

Its called Silent valley because it is very very silent there one big reason is the absence of crickets who usually make a lot of noise, even the birds don't make any noise. its very strange. you can hear your own heartbeats. The sound of your own footsteps is so loud that at times it is very scary. Its a 50 million years old forest. They will not let you drive through alone, they'll give you a forest guide.

Lord Booey !
Yenna dee ?

I was sleeping the whole day
tired, but solder pane not there, not completely gone, no magic, just staying away from the computer did the trick. I changed the mouse too, the older one was a bit hard.

I was thinking of you dee when a leech bit me and my wrist was bleeding, it became so fat with my blood, Took a picture of my bleeding wrist for you. I was completely unaware of it, no pain whatsoever, first time on my wrist, hundreds of times on my legs and feet. i visualised your stupid screams, making the whole silent valley run for its life.

Have to reply to lots of mail.
Ruby went to Coonoor with colleagues, came back with fever.
brought me a lovely t shirt.
take care booey, Say hi to the Queen, ask if she eats organic food.
love and huggs

Areee Ghodee Boo !
Sacchee bolta ree, i really thought of you when the leech was on my wrist. I was angry at myself
for being unaware of the leech drinking my blood for so long and poured my anger on your thought how I would squeeze your silly long and slender neck if you had screamed uprooting all the trees.
Any way I have a picture of my bleeding wrist to blackmail you and to give you nightmares for one year.
