BURST OF JOY

Photobucket

i needed her so badly
i am happy, i made her smile.

She gave me her best. she made me smile.
We need each other so much and such moments are so precious that we wish they last for ever.
We can't be happy alone, unless we share our joy.
byeee sweeet, she was on a boat on the sacred river Ganges.

Cute pics... infact last weekend wen we were in Trichy, there were zso many people who started giving us big broad smiles when they saw us approaching... n others would smile, n say "avangala partha veli ooru madiri irukku[they look like they are out of towners]." an would sheepishly come ask us where we are from!!

genuine innocent smiles... sigh!! beautiful.... :)

btw, u were in Kasi??where was 2nd pic taken????? and 1st one too!!!

we do. We need each other, in that we all need each other. And we need that our love be accepted just for what it is.

I've never seen an image that expressed joy more purely, innocently or simply than that first one.

We are most fortunate when we give all that we have to each other and it is returned 100-fold. We are never empty.

Yesterday I saw "In persuit of happiness"(?)Today I saw your pictures..
Both gave me immense pleasure.
Somehow my brain because of the its habit of inertia connects both.
A single leaf is a whole tree.
so were those moments.
i saw happiness of a whole life in both
thank you..

Hi VISHESH, when i am traveling alone i look like a fool smiling always thinking of something, then suddenly become conscious when some one is watching me. Most of the time i would be smiling at my own goofs.

Aiyo ! i speak Tamil very well AAARTI, can't say i am very fluent though. i am very familiar with PAITHIYAM and PRANTHAM thats what i am called AAARTI in Tamil and Malayalam. Children are fine with me. Grown ups are the problem.

The second picture is Ganga Allahbaad. Kaasi pictures are in the post 'streets of Banaras' And 'Banaras the holy city' first picture is lokkal, Kutchery road end.

i have given your address to the mosquitos, hope the ants reached your house, i had given them proper directions.

at 60 i am still a fool and i still think i'll be happier with more money MYSTIC ROSE,
i can't be happy with all the luxuries in the world. there is more joy in sharing the mirchi vada. i learn lessons but they are promptly forgotten. There is joy in small things, there is joy in sharing. i forget that too. Actually this post is to remind me of those little joys in life. i was very happy when i wrote this post. Just expressing my joy.

oh, India is a land of extremes RUTH, There is a lot of giving. Personally i have mostly very pleasant experiences, joy and help coming from strangers while traveling. There is so much of giving and sharing of love here in India. At the same time there is extreme insensitivity here. Nearly 150 people died in a stampede in a temple recently. All exhibiting utter selfishness, trying to save their own lives and crushing others to death.

My 2 day train journey to Banaras was a very pleasant experience. a little girl, Vasini her name, i can never forget her name, was a joy right through the journey, i think i wrote about her in Banaras post. The second picture and the header picture were taken at the same place. i got into the boat at 5 in the morning.

Hi MONSOON, Having bigger and higher ambitions, high expectations, kills the joy of smaller things. We simply don't notice them. We have no time to stop for a while. Its all around us, if we care to look around. Your blog is one such place to stop, take a deep breath, suck in all the joy you offer, smile and leave with a refreshed mind. Mine is quite opposite. i seem to be very good at making my friends very angry with my arrogance.

rauf said...

Thank you CUCKOO Ji. Hope you are fine.

'Don't talk to strangers' is a sound and valid advise. Things were pretty safe in your days JUDY. Things are so different now. Actually i am afraid to wave at a child or make funny faces. I don't have to make funny faces, i look like a gorilla.
i avoid talking to children when they are alone. We miss so much of joy in our lives Judy.

Thanks VRINDA, i wanted to show her the picture on the camera screen. But i was afraid. Some times a little hesitation can make us miss the joy. i felt like talking to some one on the road once, i hesitated at first, then i said Hi to him. We have been great friends for over 30 years now. it didn't stop with him, his friends and my friends got to know each other and the circle grew.

yes MAN IN PAINTING, Will smith i think. Watched it last year. Very touching it was.

We are indeed a part of the whole.
The divide is widening i am afraid, philosophy being the main reason.

Thank you PRIYA, its been a while. i was out of blog scene for nearly six months. Lot of catching up to do. i feel guilty for not keeping in touch Priya. i'll visit soon. Hope you are doing fine.

no no RUTH, Vasni is a little girl who was in the train to Banaras. i think i posted her picture too. Very sweet she was. She kept giving me all the goodies her mom fed her right through thejourney. She'll tap my knee with her closed fist, slowly opening her little hand and something would be there in it for me.

Thank you ANN, Welcome to Daylight Again.
i belong to Frank worrel days Ann,
i am a relic.
Every child in India is a big fan of Micheal Holding and Courtney Walsh.

i was not interested in watching the olympics this time, but i got to watch the 100 meters sprint final clip on your page. Thank you for posting it. You must be very proud. i think Bolt wanted to be a pace bowler. is that right ?

How can one forget Marlene Otty, what a sensation she was !

Ruth said...

Oh yes! She was very tiny I think? Oh, what a sweet game she played with you. Precious memories, like these girls' smiles.

You would change your opinion when you read my next post MONSOON, or if you read some of my older posts which speak of my arrogance. Mine is not a pleasant blog to visit, like yours.

You must be looking forward to your visit to India MONSOON. Right time. You must be home for ONAM. Good eats Jaggery Payasam and all.
My friends here in chennai invite me every year, this year its a double invitation.

Yes RUTH, very precious memories, Vasini was beautiful, always smiling. 2 day journey creats a bond. i was watching some old Wooster Jeeves clippings, They sail to New York from England, it used to take Ten days. You can't make many friends in a three or four hour flight. Peter would come back with some new friends i hope

Such lovely smiles.
I can almost hear the giggles.

I learned a lesson the other day about smiles and strangers. A man in the market was passing near me and I just smiled as he went by - he told me his wife was in the hospital and having someone smile at him had been the best thing to happen that day. I'm glad I did.
