PUNISHMENT

In a class room a couple of bullies make some mischief
who did that ? the teacher wants to know
Silence
rest of the boys are too meek and afraid to tell the teacher for the fear of getting beaten up by the bullies
Teacher is angry, she has to punish some one
so, as it happens always, she punishes the entire class.

This is exactly what is happening to us

Nature has decided to punish us all

interesting analogy...i think a slight difference is that people are in denial that we are the cause of this.......by the way beautiful layout..you have to tell me how you did this.. :)

Thank you Lisa, first time ? Welcome to Daylight again.

I promised my friends that I would post pictures of silk and cotton handloom in a four part series. Decided to slip in a three part series without pictures as things are changing fast all over the world. I have no solutions but only questions. I have already written 13 part marathon series on Environment SPEED 1 to 13. Since then i have done some fresh thinking, many things came to my mind and I would put them in the next two posts.

I have no knowledge of HTML Lisa,
I downloaded a ready made template
from pannasamattatta or something, you'll find the link at the end of this page. they have title picture and back ground image, i changed them both, thats all I did. I can guide you step by step, please send me a blank mail I'll give give you the details. What ever I do any monkey can do, I am not intelligent and wise, I am allergic to both Lisa.
Happy Easter.

the class room thing has happened to me..my response to it before:-
get up and tell who did it...
others used to:- ignore me no one used to talk to me and they will put the blame back on me..gud way to make me shut up..

now:-lesson learnt..i will hear everything won't say a thing untill i c a weak spot....

it is tough..the only reason why i think abt things and feel is because of what happened...it was really bad..imagine that 4 two years..getting ignored eventhough u say something better....its tough it really is...i am little cracked i call my self vichu the crazy...

rauf said...

This happens to every one Vishesh, creates a bad psychological impact which lasts a lifetime. We lacked courage to get united and stand against those bullies. I lacked courage too.

A few bad names in history have given a bad name to the entire human race, a handful of baddies in the US have given a bad name to all Americans. A few Misguided fundamentalist muslims have given a bad name to all the muslims. Muslims did not unite to put down these bad characters. An alien from a different planet looking from above would think that this planet is dominated by a race which is destrying itself. Far from truth.

Anonymous said...

We are strange people. We don't do much about bad things until there is enough desperation to require it. Otherwise, we're so busy with so many things, we respond to the tyrrany of the urgent alone.

Lesley's roommate has a friend who works at MSNBC. She says news rooms create news. So much is happening in the world that none of us knows about.

rauf said...

Dear Ruth,
You can count the names on your fingers who have given a bad name to the entire human race. How many people took the country to a war and caused destruction and killing ?It is a decision made by a handful of people and they give all the Americans a bad name. We couldn't do much about giant multinationals who went about plundering and damaging. There were protests only from past 40 years and they fall on deaf ears. We watch all the destruction silently Ruth. The media cannot survive without their blessings.
So, the major news is Michel Jacson's breakfast or Britney Sprears' shaving of head. Cricket is the major news in India, Not the destruction of 37% out of 40% of forest in India. Only 3% is left now. People do not know about this. They know everything about the fights within cricket board, they know everything about the movie stars, news about them generates money for the media, there is no money in awareness programmes.

Hi Rauf

Wonderful post I always find inspiration when I stop by. I love looking at your pictures, you are such a talent. I especially liked the ones you took last year on your Train Journey.

Stopping to wish you a Happy Easter

Bill

rauf said...

Of course we are to be blamed Mystic Rose. We have allowed the bullies to have their way, we have elected them to power. When two baddies contest we choose lesser baddie or a known devil or a lesser devil. There is no option. The system favours the evil. We have silently witnessed making of superiors and inferiors amoung us humans. I'll have more on this in my next post Mystic Rose

Thank you Bill
hope you are enjoying the spring and the holidays
happy Easter to you and your friends and not forgetting Hamish and alexander

First of all wowwwwwwww ur blog is simply flambouyant and amazing its worth a read and watch everytime u log in and so well metaphor used for global warming hope it doesnt take much toil and lets us all do parrts in preventing the worse

rauf said...

Struggling with the spelling protegeoflife,
I have written a marathon 13 part series on the subject already, SPEED 1 to 13, requires lot of time and patience to go through it.
We seem to have have bigger problems. All of us have to pay for the sins of a few, this will end up with our extinction. Global warming is just the beginning.

Chica, Cienna, and Cali said...

there was such wisdom and truth in this analogy.........

Himavan said...

Very thought provoking post!

I think its not a time to play blame game. Instead to focus on how to minimize the damage already happening and preventing any damage that might happen future. This is what theme of research that inspires guys like me actually!!

rauf said...

moi,
Honestly, i am allergic to both wisdom and intelligence. It is the different versions of wisdom and different philosophies which have smeared the earth with the blood of the innocent. Wars are waged by the intelligent not by the ignorant. It is the intelligence which is taking us towards our extinction.

rauf said...

moi, I would trade all the wisdom in the world for a little commonsense.

thank you so much moi, I have written a lot on this subject in a 13 part series titled SPEED 1 to 13
some six months ago, it would take a lot of time and patience to go through it.

rauf said...

Contended,
mother earth has the capacity to heal itself, the problem does not lie in damage alone, we are too small to damage or save the planet. Problems lie somewhere else. Humans are the only species which has completely alienated from nature. I have already written about it. i'll write some more in my next two posts.

Anonymous said...

You are right. Weall get punished when the "good" once remaine silent. On the other hand I understand the silence, telling who did it makes their lifes difficult, they even may loose it. The bad ones on the other side find it acceptable to go on, they feel safe. Unfortunately this is happening worldwide. Do you talk you can be certain you will be badly punished and very often complitly vanishe from this world. Edith.

david santos said...

Thanks for you work and have a good week.

katy said...

hope you had a good easter Rauf, the words of punishment, we are all to blame, we just hope that it's not too late to start correcting things and so we must all do our bit to start protecting our enviroment

rauf said...

Edith, global warming is only one of the many problems, we have completely moved away from nature, we have moved so far that we nearly have nothing to do with nature except for the intake of food oxygen and water. Repairing the damage is the least of our worries. We are merrily marching towards our extinction. We have proved to be a blunder of evolution like the giant reptiles.
Our days are numbered. Intelligence is our worst enemy.

rauf said...

Thank you David Santos

rauf said...

HER INDOORS, quite true, it is not too late, rectification is required in many areas, not just in repairing the damage which is the least of our problems. Believe me HER INDOORS, mother earth does not need our help.

Thanks for coming by! Yea please put a post on Indian designs! I would love it! I love Indian patterns and colors. I think it's maybe becasue I'm caribbean I love different patterns. One of my dreams is to have a great excuse to legitimately wear a beautiful full Indian Sari! I think people would look at me odd if I wore one. If I had an Indian boyfriend that may give me some although little validation to wear one.. :) Oh well, I'll just wait on my John Abraham replica! sigh....

OWEEE LISA, you a caribbean ??
I love Brian Laura, what a treat to watch, simply adore him, last night watched a bit, they were playing against south African they were not doing well, so went back to sleep. Every child in India know Brian Lara, chandrapaul and others.

why legitimacy ? will you get arrested if you wear a Sari in Washington DC ? With my haggard hairy looks with my beard going in all direction, if i wear a sari, i will be arrested and thrown in a padded cell.

Sari is a very graceful dress, there are so many different ways of wearing a sari, the best of all is a Coorgi style, actually it is a tribal style. In a regular style one of your hands is constantly engaged. but in coorgi style you can run 400 meters hurdles, both your hands are free. Regular sari covers your feet, but Corgi Sari comes little above the ankles. Regular sari covers half your jewelry, but in Coorgi style the jewelry is well displayed. Ankllets too, you know Lisa, you get anklets making tingling sound when you walk, and with glass bangles it sounds terrific. I'll post pictures of different styles soon. I did a post on indian jewelry recently the title was 'feel good' Perhaps you can do a show on different sari styles one day

i asked my friend who is john Abraham before responding to your comment, saw his picture on the net, i have seen him in some motor bike advertisement. tall good looking chap. You'll find many such John Abrahams in India, just stay away from the cities, they may not be stylish, they may not speak english, they may be wearing turbans, chewing paan or tobacco, or smoking beedi (indian cigarette) but definitely better looking and you'll have to toiilet train them. Plenty in Rajasthan, very colourful.

isa said...

Don't believe Rauf, Lisa - he is handsome and single (as far as I know!)...so maybe you can wear your sari for him ;-)))

Hello Rauf - thanks for visiting Naples and leaving hilarious comments (I especially loved the one about Smingus Dingus - did you spray anyone?)
Last night on the Travel Channel I watched Anthony Burdain (famous chef) travel to Rajasthan. It was fascinating: I imagined it was you, travelling on top of the bus through the desert, getting your meals at the roadside stands, attending colorful (and a bit bizare to us, Westerners) festivals...I enjoyed it very much!
But you never told us about the beedi and how powerful they can be - Bourdain awakened the next day face down in the desert sand, disoriented ;-)))

FOUR DINNERS said...

Not surprising. I've always thought we're more like a virus than a lifeform the way we screw up the planet and allow other species to become extinct just to keep us in luxury. Not even all of us, just the few who can afford it.
Go nature!! Maybe we'll learn. Probably not but maybe.

Hope yer head's better!!

rauf said...

We are all equally guilty Nasra, next is a very long story on the same subject. hope you are doing well

rauf said...

Isabella, please send some sunshine to Ruth and Ruth will send some rain and snow to me. Seriously Isabella, we humans are supposed to migrate just like birds, We are stuck with jobs property passports visa. Now we sit at one place and change the indoor atmosphere to our liking, istalling heaters or coolers. It has come from somewhere. There was a proposal in kuwait to make the whole city airconditioned

rauf said...

Look what you have done Isabella,
all the gorgeous movie stars of Bombay are knocking my door, Spielberg and Terence Malik are calling me in the middle of the night disturbing my sleep. I think all the cows of my city have read what you wrote about me, i find them following me where ever i go.
Only cows find me attractive.

I owe you flowers Isabella.

Ruth said...

We'll start calling you the Pied Piper of Chennai. What a fine image I have of you leading the cows around. Thank you for the personal weather request, I hope Isabella will comply. I am doing my best rain dance for Chennai. Now the rain has stopped this morning here, but there's supposed to be more coming. Mixed with snow.

rauf said...

Dear Ruth,
you can make a hillarious movie here, nothing is new to us, we have done rain dance and our musicians have played music standing in a dried lake to attract rain. After that it did not rain for three years. We are a bit relaxed now as we had good rains in past two years.

I'll post pictures of chennai in Blunt knife, the cows come and pose for the pictures.
people of Chennai have never expierinced a winter, snow is unthinkable. It snowed once in OOTY, a hill station in Tamilnadu.

rauf said...

Rose, how lovely ! an angel ?? We need your kindness.

Welcome to daylight again Rose, i am afraid i am welcoming you to a depressing post, my next post would be more depressing and scary.
Oh you have a poetry blog too. Thats very nice. People with imagination like you give us hope.
Thank you so much Rose

rauf said...

oh I am honoured Lotus Reads, if there is an award for the most depressing blog i am sure to win it. i have never entered in any competetion in any capacity in my life.

Actually i was getting tired of writing continuously depressing posts on environment SPEED1 to SPEED 13 Then wrote a few on travel to relax. have lots but i have to write one more deprressing post which would come next,as everybody is talking about global warming, its pretty long im afraid.

AVIANA said...

WOW you are lazy with the posts! :)

rauf said...

Lisa, i am lazy, you have given me a compliment actually, you have to find a better word for laziness. Extreme laziness.

i am sorry Lisa, I am posting it positively today, posssitivvly. it is 8.20 in the morning here in India, it will be on in another hour.
Its so long that had to spend a lot of time cutting it short and ended up adding more, no one will have patience to read it. i thought of splitting it into 3 posts but it will not make any sence, it has to come as one piece. it is as long as a book. I'll inform you as soon as i post it, some of my friends are accusing me of deliberately delaying it. Believe me, i was spending lot of time on trying to cut it short but i couldn't. it is very depressing, and i don't want to ruin your weekend, so better read it after the weekend.

rauf said...

and i am not happy about posting it Lisa, had to think a lot, thought of aborting it many times and i went to sleep last night with the idea of not posting it and posting some pictures instead, the post is so depressing.

How on Earth did I miss this one?

Do you really think is is punishing us OR, just crying out in discomfort and pain?
I don;t think she is vengeful.
She is passionate and reckless at times but... vengeful?

rauf said...

oh ! i missed this one too dearest Angel,

sorry for the delay in response
Oh yes, she is out to punish us.
Animals birds have a warning system, we had it too but our intelligence has killed it. When ever there is flood, earthquake, teunami, you don't hear of any animal casualities. only humans die. Animals get the warning a minute before and escape to safety.
Only farm animals who are trapped die in such calamities.

Tribals still have it. One tribe in andaman islands escaped to safety while the island was hit by tsunami. We have to get back the warning system Angel.

AVIANA said...

Hah! You're not doing what I nagged you about! Keep the posts constant and short!

You're slacking! :(

Anyhow, that's alot of info you gave me. I did not know there were so many kinds of Indian dancing! Well I'll just take whatever I can find here in DC and see if I end up in a bollywood movie next to Aishwarya!
